Mountain Empire Haiti Relief Challenge
The Town of Chilhowie will participate in the Mountain Empire Haiti Relief Challenge on Friday, February 5th. Z103.5, Rock 102.5, and FM94 will be promoting at the Chilhowie Food City from 10 am until 2 pm collecting items to benefit the earthquake victims of Haiti. We are asking you, the community, to get involved in this challenge. Please find below, an accepted list of personal care items for assembly and delivery. These items will be taken to the VFW post in Marion for packing and shipment.
Health kits must include only these items approved for international shipment:
• 1 hand towel (15” x 25” up to 17” x 27”, but no kitchen towels)
• 1 washcloth
• 1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
• 1 nail file or fingernail clipper (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
• 1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
• 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, no child-size brushes)
• 1 small or medium tube of toothpaste (expiration date must be Jan. 2011 or later)
• 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages

Contributors may donate completed kits or any number of items on the approved list for inclusion in multiple kits.
