NEW BUSINESS

 

1.      Consideration of appointments to the Chilhowie Planning Commission.

The terms of Ms. Catherine Tuell and Mrs. Laura Etta Wilkinson expired on December 31, 2002 .  These are four year terms.

 

2.      Consideration of appointments to the Chilhowie Industrial Development Authority.  The terms of Mrs. Katherine Thomas and Mr. Eugene Groseclose expired on December 31, 2002 .  These are four year terms.

 

3.      Request to set a public hearing for the February meeting to consider Atmos natural gas franchise agreement

 

4.      Public Hearings beginning at 8:00 p.m.

1.      Consideration of amendment to add one percent to the current tax rate on the amount pad for a meal.

2.      Consideration of adoption of a Lodging Tax Ordinance setting the tax rate at four percent of the total amount charged for occupancy of any guest accommodations provided within the Town of Chilhowie .

 

4.   Any Other Council Business.

 

5.   Closed session to consider land acquisition/economic development (Section 2.2-3711, subsection 3 and 5, of the Code of Virginia, as amended)
